The Wrexham Texans Football Academy (WTFA) Extra Curricular Literacy Project was launched on the back end of the Summer Series of projects delivered to over 200 children within the Fort Worth Parks and Rec Community Centers.

Using soccer as a vehicle to promote reading and writing levels in both boys and girls is a core value for the Literacy Project and is tailored for students in grades 3-6 but can be modified for older students if needed.

The LP is a 5-week course where qualified and background-checked staff deliver the program on a selected day/time of the week for 5 sessions.

Sessions are created to engage students on the course by reading selected football match reports, observing video highlights of a game then creating a match report based on their reading and visual observations.
