The Literacy Project

The Wrexham Texans Football Academy (WTFA) Literacy Project is a program created to support local Elementary and Middle schools using football (soccer) as a vehicle to promote reading and writing levels in both boys and girls. The project has and continues to be implemented throughout the City of Fort Worth Parks and Rec Department during the summer months at community centers across the city. To date, almost 200 children have had access to the project which has elevated reading levels while also improving physical activity levels using the game of soccer to enhance this.

Betsy Price Community Center

The Wrexham Texans Academy has partnered with the City of Forth Worth to deliver soccer specific skills at the Betsy Price Community Center in Northwest Fort Worth. Sessions are 6-7pm indoor at the center's gymnasium every Monday through May and are delivered by the Academy staff coaches.
